Missing fisherman located

RIPLEY - On Friday evening at about 7:30 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office received a report from a camping party that Joseph Evancho, 56, of Blasdell had left a camp off of Greenbush Road that afternoon to go fishing and had not returned.

The Sheriff's Office, Ripley Fire Department, and the New York State forest ranger began a search. After midnight, Erie County Air One located Evancho in a wooded area off of Irish Road. The Sheriff's K-9 unit and the fire department were directed by Air One and located Evancho at about 12:30 a.m.

No one was injured and no charges were filed.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department

FORESTVILLE - Early Saturday morning, Cash J. Bowman, 21, of Forestville was charged with reckless operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

A sheriff's deputy was patrolling the village of Forestville when the deputy heard squealing tires. The officer located a vehicle in the Forestville Middle/High School parking lot which reportedly had tire marks all around it. The officer determined that Bowman was doing donuts in the vehicle. There were three passengers in the vehicle

A check of Bowman's license reportedly showed it was suspended.

Bowman will answer charges in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

State Police at Collins

On Nov. 22, troopers charged Sarah Howard, 24, of Lockport for second-degree promoting prison contraband and a public health law misdemeanor after she was reportedly caught trying to smuggle pills into the Collins Correctional Facility. Investigators from the New York state inspector general's office reported she had 30 tablets (50 mg.) of Ultram as she was entering the facility to visit her husband.

She was processed at state police barracks in Collins and is due to appear in the Town of Collins Court later next month.

ANGOLA - On Wednesday, troopers charged Zachary Brock, 17, of Boston State Road in Boston and Joseph Durusky, 17, of Holiday Road in Boston with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Both were passengers in a car troopers stopped for an inadequate exhaust.

Brock was reportedly in possession of a plastic baggie containing 3.3 grams of marijuana. Durusky was reportedly in possession of a glass pipe with marijuana in it.

Both were issued appearance tickets and are due in Evans Town Court next month.

IRVING - On Thursday, troopers charged Thomas Jones III, 18, of State Route 438 in Irving with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Jones was stopped for reportedly going 71 mph in a 45 mph zone. Officers reportedly found two burnt marijuana cigarettes in the central console of his vehicle.

Troopers issued Jones an appearance ticket for the Town of Brant Court next month.
