FORESTVILLE - The annual Remembrance Mass for All Deceased Children will be offered this year on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 11 Center St., Forestville. This Mass is offered for anyone who has lost a child, born or unborn. Those who wish to attend are asked to call Mary Franklin 965-4803 and give her the name of the child so his/her name will be prayed aloud at the Mass. It has been a custom for some parents to order a poinsettia plant with their child's name on it to remain within the Sanctuary of St. Rose of Lima throughout the Christmas season. Afterwards, the family is invited to take their plant home as a memento of the offering of the flower to the Christ Child. This is totally up to the parents and is not an obligation.
Those who wish to have their child's name remembered at the Mass, or order a poinsettia, are directed to call Franklin as soon as possible.
All are welcome, even those not belonging to the Catholic faith.
