FORESTVILLE - The St. Rose of Lima annual Christmas cookie sale is under way once again this year. Included in the sale are the Italian fig cookies (Cucidati) along with many, many varieties of cookies. The ladies of the St. Rose Society enjoy baking the cookies. They donate their time and the cost of the ingredients. This year, the funds received from the sale will provide funds needed for their mission donations in South America and other charitable donations in the Northern Chautauqua County area.
Cookie trays may be ordered by calling Carmen at 965-9914, Pat at 965-2738 or Fran at the Mt. Carmel rectory 934-2233. Each plate of cookies will be filled with traditional homemade cookies. They will be beautifully presented and wrapped so that they may be given as gifts. The medium tray of 30-plus cookies is $17 while the large tray of 60-plus cookies is $22. The Italian fig cookies are sold $12 per pound. Cookies will be ready for pickup at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 11 Center St., Forestville, on the weekend of Dec. 18 and 19. Special orders and pickup times can be arranged if necessary.
