Outstanding Business Student honored

SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Business Department announces that Gena Eberhardt has been named the Outstanding Business Student for Marking Period 1. Eberhardt is a senior who has taken Business Law, Marketing, E-commerce, and Software Applications. She is currently taking Accounting.

Clubs that Eberhardt belongs to include Foreign Language Club, AFS and Big Buddy. Eberhardt maintains leadership roles as Natural Helpers president, Video Yearbook president, Key Club vice president, Spanish Club vice president, Student Council treasurer, Earth Club secretary, and Gay-Straight Alliance treasurer. She also plays softball and soccer of which she was the team captain. Outside of school Eberhardt works at Chick's Pizzeria in Angola. Eberhardt is the daughter of Sharon and Gene Eberhardt. Her future plans are to attend Fredonia State to become a math teacher.

The criteria for achieving this award are the student must be currently enrolled in a business course, have an average of 90 percent or higher in current business courses, and have missed one day or less during the marking period. Additional points are given for the number of business courses taken.

This award is given each marking period and any student taking a non-required business course is eligible. Outstanding students receive a certificate, gift basket, and have their picture and biography posted. They will also have an opportunity to be eligible for the Business and Marketing Honor Society of New York State.
