Juniors at Immaculata Academy in Hamburg were officially welcomed as upperclassmen and as the next senior class in the annual Ring Day ceremony. In receiving a school ring, students pledge to uphold the standards of the school and promise cooperation and loyalty during their years as alumnae. Each ring features an image of the Blessed Mother Mary, tying the girls to the school and each other, and students could customize the ring shank (the cylinder where one inserts a finger) with emblems representing clubs and sports in which they participated. Local students include Angola residents Maria Billittier, Hannah Cooper, Kathryn Halloran and Jill Sullivan; and Collins resident Rachel Rebmann.
"We invite anyone to come and participate in this free seminar to find ways to kick the habit, especially as we start a new year and many are focused on their health when making their New Year's resolutions," states Robert Wahl, church elder and featured speaker.
The seminar will feature materials endorsed by the American Cancer Society and are provided free of charge. Since the course is free of charge, no pre-registration is required. For more information on this program, please call 792-9595.
