3 North Collins students charged with in-school drug possession

NORTH COLLINS - New York State Police Troopers charged three North Collins High School students with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and public health law misdemeanors, after they were reportedly found in possession of illegal prescription drugs.

School officials had been suspicious of the three and were alerted to them possibly having drugs in school. When confronted, the three were reportedly found in possession of the drugs. School officials found a 14-year-old female with one Lortab pill, a 14-year-old male with a partial Lortab pill and another 14-year-old female with 4 Lortab pills. All three of the students were from the North Collins area.

The three were petitioned to Erie County Family Court as juvenile delinquents and given Erie County Family Court appearance tickets.

They were then released to their parents at the school. Evans Police warn of scam

EVANS - The Town of Evans Police, in conjunction with the New York State Police, are investigating a Craigslist scam.

The popular website posted an advertisement dated Jan. 15 which advertised a country music concert.

The ad said the concert would be held at Evangola State Park between July 13 and 15. This is a false advertisement. The ad is asking vendors for a $1,000 deposit to save their spot at the concert.

Anyone who has responded to this ad is asked to contact Capt. Danzi of the Evans Police at 549-3600 or Sgt. Krawczyk of the New York State Park Police at 354-9111.

The Evans Police tip line is 217-3585 or email detectives@evanspoliceny.com
