Derek R. McKinnon and Katie M. Kochan announce their engagement. McKinnon is the son of Christine Christy of Fredonia and Roy McKinnon II of Silver Creek. Kochan is the daughter of Cheryl and William Kochan of Niagara Falls.
The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She earned her bachelor's degree at Buffalo State College and her master's degree in literacy education at Medaille College. She is currently teaching in the Town of Tonawanda.
The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Fredonia Central School. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Niagara University. He is currently a sales and use tax auditor for New York State.
