Brett Smith, a senior Visual Arts and New Media major from Olean, designed the above image for the postcard promoting the “Fredonia Showcase” exhibition, which opens Friday in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery at SUNY Fredonia.
Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
"The 'Fredonia Show-case' is an annual event that highlights the excellent work of the students of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media," Art Gallery Director Tina Hastings said. "The artwork is selected by faculty members in all disciplines to be included in the exhibition."
She explained the exhibition is "an opportunity for students to see their work displayed in a gallery setting instead of just in the studio. It is an honor to have work included in the exhibition and students are able to build their exhibition resume."
The "Fredonia Show-case" will feature works by Visual Arts and New Media students from various class levels.
Gallery hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
