Francella M. Hornburg-Burchett

Francella M. Hornburg-Burchett, 50, was granted her angel wings on Jan. 30, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Fran had touched in many different ways throughout her life. She was born March 20, 1961 in Dunkirk, New York to Lee and Frances (Pisa) Hornburg.Francella was a 1979 graduate of Silver Creek Central School. She continued her education at the State

University of New York - Fredonia in Fredonia, NY graduating in 1991 with a master's degree in education. She was a devoted teacher who cared very deeply for each and every one of her students, during her 19 years at Silver Creek Central Schools. She was an active member of the parent-

teacher team, a Festival of Grapes Pageant volunteer as well as a children's fair volunteer worker. Her interests included spending time with her

children and family, music, reading and traveling. Surviving are her husband, Robert Burchett; two children, Brittany and Alexander; her mother-in-law, Shirley (Hohenstien) Hickling; sisters-in-law Katherine (Burchett) Greco, Joyce (Burchett) Parker and brother-in-law, Howard Burchett. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Marie Pisa; father-in-law Robert Burchett; Aunt Maria (Pisa) Richardson; and a cousin, Shawn McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fran Burchett Memorial Fund at M & T Bank, which will be used for the Fran Burchett Scholarship and donations to various cancer research studies. Prayers will be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at 9:30 AM from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver Creek followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt.
