Church plans dinner and auction

CHERRY CREEK - The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church will hold a Scoop Dinner and Wrapped Gift Auction on Saturday, Feb. 18. The dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. followed by the auction at 6 p.m. Money is hidden in one of the wrapped gifts. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship.

Services set

On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22 the St. John's United Church of Christ will have a church service at 7:30 p.m.

Shrove Tuesday plans made at church

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will hold a Shrove Tuesday Service, "Preparation for our Journey into Change." This service is a prelude to Ash Wednesday, and consists of prayer, scripture readings, the burning of Palms from last year's Palm Sunday and changing the Liturgical environment to the colors of Lent. It will be followed by a social of Fastnachts (fried dough, sprinkled with sugar), juice, coffee, tea, and other sweet treats as a Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday-type celebration before the prelude to Lent which begins on Ash Wednesday. The service begins Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the church located at 328 Washington Ave. in Dunkirk. All are welcome.

Guest speaker Sunday

LILY DALE - Guest speaker Andrea McCabe will address the Church of the Living Spirit at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.
