‘Job well done’ by committee

February 11, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

The family of the late LeRoy "Lee" F. Fox wishes to extend a sincere heartfelt thank you to all of the businesses and individuals that donated/helped make the LeRoy Fox Medical Fund Benefit held July 31 at the Dunkirk Moose Lodge a great success.

The tremendous community support was so overwhelming. Lee was a man of very few words. As a cop, he found listening, absorbing them, then elaborating on the important things in life beneficial. Lee was so overwhelmed and grateful at the benefit. He said he couldn't find words that expressed what he was feeling. I know that when we left there that night he cried ... for anyone who knew Lee ... that wasn't like him. Lee passed away Sept. 29.

The numerous businesses and individuals that donated are extensive. So therefore, I'm not listing separately risking the chance I might omit one and the OBSERVER is limited on space. Just please know all were greatly appreciated.

I would like to specifically thank a couple of people who helped at the benefit. They were Layne Fox and Steve Gromala, and Diane and Bill Berek.

I do want to thank the LeRoy F. Fox Committee members, without whom none of this would have come about. And I found a paper in Lee's words, "I want to thank the committee for a job well done. ... Never realized time and work it takes to organize such an event! Committee members Rick Mazurek, Officer David Pleszewski, Eileen Baldridge (author), Lynette Fox, Pat Kirell, Sheila Mazurek, Robert Szukala, Nancy and Ken Tarnowski, Chuck and Debbie Noto, Tammy Winder, Valerie Wolnik, Denise Wolnik, Sue and Tim Slate.

EILEEN BALDRIDGE,

Brocton
