The Northern Chautauqua Catholic School Lady Monarchs jayvee team won the Fourth Annual Joe Demarco Hoops Tournament, at Nativity. The Lady Monarchs defeated St. Vincent de Paul, 18-4. In the title game, Katie Price had eight points while Gracie Pucciarelli chipped in four points. Krissy Wielgasz and Hannah Gullo led the Lady Monarchs’ defense, which limited the Lady Voyagers’ to two points in each half. For St. Vincent de Paul, Mary Owczarcak and Makayla McLaughlin each scored two points. In its first-round contest, NCCS topped St. Vincent de Paul, 15-13. Allison Cortes and Lily Kasperek combined to score eight points while Kylie Warren and Olivia Gullo played well defensively. For the Lady Voyagers, Jenna Smolarek, scored six points. Next up for the Lady Monarchs was Sacred Heart. In their second-round game, the Lady Monarchs earned a 10-4 win, as Mackenzie Markham had a team-high six points. Also for NCCS, Jessica Beehler and Bernadette Banach played great defense. Maria Coughlin and Angelina Pacholczak led the Sacred Heart scorers. In its third game, NCCS topped Nativity, 13-5, behind Pucciarelli and Hannah Gullo’s four points each. Kasperek and Katie Price held the Warriors to two first-half points. Dunkirk Varsity Baseball Spaghetti Dinner
The Dunkirk varsity baseball team will be holding a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Moose Lodge No. 89, in Dunkirk. The dinner will run from noon-4 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at Matt's News or from any parent of a varsity player.
Matteson-Kempo Karate Rec Program
Matteson-Kempo Karate will host a youth recreation program. The school is offering two weeks of free classes with no strings attached. The sessions will begin Monday, Feb. 13, ending Saturday, Feb. 25. The ages are available to age 3-18 years of age. There are two programs to choose from and are age appropriate. See below:

Westfield Baseball Chicken and Biscuit Dinner
The Westfield varsity baseball parents are sponsoring a chicken and biscuit dinner and Chinese auction Feb. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Westfield Moose.
Pre-sale tickets are being sold by players on the team or at the door.
Adult meals are $9 and $7 for children.
Maple Grove Floor Hockey Tournament
The Maple Grove Student Council is hosting a Floor Hockey Tournament to benefit Ryan Samuelson and his family. The event will be held Friday, March 16 (and possibly March 17) at Bemus Point Elementary School.
Games will be 5-on-5, and it is open to all ages.
Registration is $15 per team, and the registration form can be found on the homepage of www.mgstudco.tk.
Modified High
School Hockey
The Western New York High School Club Hockey League (WNYHSCHL) modified ice hockey program is looking for participants. To qualify, a player must have been no older than 14 years old on Aug. 31, 2011 and in seventh or eighth grade. No sixth or ninth graders, regardless of age.
The league is also looking for certified hockey coaches (at least card level 1) to coach the upcoming season.

Dunkirk Little League Registration
Dunkirk Little League will be holding two more registrations in February. The dates and times are as follows: Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 6-8 p.m.; and Thursday Feb. 16 from 6-8 p.m. All registration periods will take place at the Frank Acquavia Post, located at 211 Lakeshore Drive West.
To be eligible for baseball, all players must be 4-years-old before May 1, 2012, and not older than 13 before May 12.
To be eligible for softball, all players who will be 6-years-old before Jan. 1, 2012, and who will not reach the age of 13 before Jan. 1, may register.
All new and returning players must register. All new players must bring their original birth certificate to registration. Hospital and baptismal certificates will not be accepted as proof of age.
The fee is $40 per player, and includes a team jersey with name and number on the back and pants. The price is the same for all divisions, which include T-ball, minors and majors. There will be a $110 cap for three or more family members and a parent or guardian must be present at registration.
Tryouts will be held Sunday, March 4 for required players, with times being announced at registration.
All players will be asked to sell a minimum of two lottery calendars as part of one of the league's fundraisers.
Volunteer forms will be available at registration for all managers, coaches and concession stand volunteers. A copy of any potential volunteer's driver's licence will be needed.
Volunteers are needed to serve as managers, coaches and team parents for the 2012 season. Information about how to volunteer or questions about registration can be directed to league president Gary Haase at 366-4452, or 679-6929.
Fredonia Little League
Fredonia Little League will hold registration for baseball and softball Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 6-9 p.m. in the Fredonia High school cafeteria.
Registration will be held for the following divisions: Boys' and girls' T-ball, ages 4-6; Boys' and girls' Hathaway League, ages 6-8; Cerrie League baseball, ages 8- 9 and boys' Wright League baseball, ages 10-12. In the softball division, registration will be held for teams in the minor league, ages 7-9, and major league, ages 10-12.
Participants must be a resident of the Fredonia Central School District
The cost is $55 for the Wright, Cerrie, Hathaway and softball leagues, and $40 for T-Ball leagues. There is a cap of $125 per family. This cap does not include the fundraiser.
All new and returning players must register and a copy of a birth certificate is required for all new players
Coaching and umpire applications will also be accepted at the registration sessions. All coaching applications must be received by FLL Board of Directors by Monday, Feb. 20 in order to be considered for a coaching position.

Westfield Little League sign-ups will be Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Westfield Academy and Central School cafeteria and Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Eason Hall.
