Blessed Mary Angela Parish Ladies Society

The Ladies Society of the Blessed Mary Angela Parish met Tuesday for their monthly meeting at the social center. President Carol Schiller offered a prayer before the meeting.

Reports were given by Secretary Jenny Naruszewicz, Treasurer Joan Zielinski, Financial Secretary Dorothy Sarzyniak, and Sunshine Committee representative Sophia Urbanik, respectively.

The society offered a monetary donation to the Catholic Charities Appeal and a monetary donation to Blessed Mary Angela parish.

The society is invited to attend a 5:15 p.m. Mass on Saturday, March 24 at St. Hedwig's for member Angela Domanski, who is celebrating her 100th birthday. A reception will follow at the social center.

Dorothy Sarzyniak concluded the meeting with a poem titled, "A Note from St. Frances."

Green decorated cakes and a variety of sandwiches were served from a buffet table covered with green cloth. The table was centered with a fresh white miniature flowers and greens in a crystal vase. Two colorful leprechauns flanked the centerpiece completing the St. Patrick theme.

Serving the refreshments were Annabelle Reilly and Sophia Urbanik.

A raffle was held and money prizes were awarded. Sophia Urbanik won the flowers and Martha Bialaszewski won the leprechauns.

The next society meeting will be Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at the social center.

Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society

Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society met recently at St. Hedwig Social Center.

President Martha Bialaszewski greeted all present and officers led members in the recitation of the Rosary and prayers for ill and deceased members.

The opening meeting prayer was given by Annabelle Riley. Secretary Carol Schiller presented the minutes of the February meeting and Lucille Bartkowski gave the society's treasurer's report. Both were accepted as read.

The birthday of Stella Michalak was celebrated.

Plans were made to hold a luncheon card party on Wednesday, May 16, at the church Social Center. A committee meeting will take place on Monday, March 19 at 1 p.m.

Members were reminded there will be a church golumbki dinner on March 28 at 4 p.m. in the Social Center and an Easter Brunch on Easter Sunday after the 9 a.m. Mass. All are invited.

Bialaszewski reminded members there will be a 5:15 p.m. Mass on March 24 honoring member Angeline Domanski on her 100th birthday. A reception will follow in the Social Center.

A monetary donation was made to the Catholic Charities Appeal 2012 of Buffalo.

Sunshine chairman Pat Kokocinski reported Genevieve Mleczko being in the hospital.

The meeting's closing prayer was read by Alvina Monahan.

Refreshments were served from the St. Patrick's Day decorated tables by Elaine Kaus, Betty Kern, Dorothy Kornacki, Joyce Tarnowski, and Rita Szot.

The meeting for April will be on April 2 at 7 p.m. at St. Hyacinth's Lyceum.
