Alex Glasier is son of Steven and Lisa Glasier. He has several siblings, one of whom is in the Air Force and another who's is attending Fredonia State.
Alex is a senior at FHS and has high expectations for his future. He has made the honor roll at least once every year, and he has challenged himself with several advanced courses (US History, English, Psychology, and Statistics). Alex wi1l graduate in June with an Advanced Regents Diploma, as well as in the top 20 percent of his class.
In terms of sports, Alex has run cross country for six years. He played tennis his freshman and sophomore years and track his junior and senior years. However, he has always had a deep interest in football and basketball. Alex was on the varsity team for cross country for part of his junior year and all his senior year. In track, he participates in the sprints and has made it into some of the top heats.
Alex has played the trumpet in band since fifth grade. Several of these years he has qualified and made All-County Band and All-County Jazz Band. Just recently he qualified for All-County Band in playing a level six solo, plus made First trumpet in All-County Jazz. He has also played in the pit orchestra for the school's musical since junior year.
It wasn't until his junior year that Alex was actively involved in clubs. He was in Spanish club his junior year, and has been involved in Chess & Quiz Club since then.
After high school Alex will attend Fredonia State to major in sports management and receive a minor in athletic coaching. Someday he plans to become a financial accountant for an NFL team, and when he retires, becoming a football coach at the high school level.
Jacklyn Richir is the daughter of Scott and Gina Richir. Currently, Jackie is a senior at Fredonia High School. She is participating in the 3-1-3 program at SUNY Fredonia as well as challenging herself by taking two AP courses, AP Psychology and AP Calculus. She has also taken Advanced English courses prior to her senior year. Throughout her four years in high school she has maintained honor and merit role status. This June Jackie will be graduating with an Advanced Regents Diploma with honors.
Another priority of Jackie's outside of school is dance. She is a member of the New York Majestic Senior Dance Team at Collage Performing Arts Center. Jackie has been dancing for 13 years and has been a member of the Majestic Dance Team for all four years of high school. She is proud to say that for the four years she was on this team, they traveled to Orlando, Fla., every February to compete in the Universal Dance Association's National Dance Team Championships. She also competed in numerous local dance competitions throughout the winter.
Jackie volunteers her time weekly to help out the Collage Dance Studio. Here she assists her director, Marci Hadley, with her preschool tap, ballet and tumbling classes. Jackie also aids her Irish instructor, Cara Barnes, with her Elementary Irish class. Jackie enjoys interacting with children so this is a great opportunity for her to do so. Also, she has participated in numerous parades and performances at elderly homes with Collage.
Next fall Jackie plans on continuing her education at SUNY Fredonia. Here she will participate in the Early Childhood Education Program and eventually become a kindergarten teacher.
