Meghan Carkin and Richard Betts announce their engagement. Carkin is the daughter of Christopher Forsell and Mimi (Carkin) Forsell of Westfield, and the granddaughter of Ed and Sally Child of Massachusetts. Betts is the son of Stan and Patty Betts of Westfield and the grandson of Art and Peggy Betts and Dolores Kaufman, all of Westfield.
The bride-to-be graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 2004, and Monroe Community College in 2008 with an A.A.S in dental hygiene. She earned her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene in 2012 at Ohio State University. She is employed at The Center for Dental Health in Columbus, Ohio.
Her fiance graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 2004, and Edinboro University with a bachelor's degree in business, financial services concentration. He is employed at Nationwide Financial as a territory development director.
