The OBSERVER

BUFFALO - University at Buffalo's TCIE has awarded certifications to professionals and UB students who have successfully completed training in the continuous improvement methodologies of Lean and Six Sigma.

Lean is focused on waste elimination and reduction at every level. Certification required passing an exam and completing an improvement project for candidates' respective organizations using Lean tools.

The Certified Lean Professional (CLP) program produces effective Lean leaders equipped with tools and concepts to help their organizations increase on-time delivery, decrease cycle time and improve product quality. Robert Riehle of Gowanda, director of manufacturing and human resources at Flexovit USA, was among CLP graduates.

For more information on how TCIE can assist Western New York businesses, visit www.tcie.buffalo.edu or call 645-8800.
