Silver Creek kindergarten registration Information

Silver Creek Elementary School will hold kindergarten registration May 17 and May 18. If your child will turn five years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2012, your child is eligible to enter kindergarten this fall.

You must be a legal resident of the Silver Creek Central School District, or live within the Silver Creek service area on the Seneca Nation (west of the Brant Reservation road) to enroll your child in Silver Creek Central School District.

Please call 934-2603, ext. 1100 to schedule an appointment. (Children currently enrolled in the Universal Pre kindergarten Program at Silver Creek Central School will not need to re-register.)

Town of Pomfret justice report

The Town of Pomfret Court under Town Justice Anthony J. Pulci saw 153 vehicle and traffic cases, three ag and market cases, three civil cases, two penal law cases, one public health law case, one town law case, 19 suspension lifts and two certificates of disposition. The total number of cases was 184 and the total amount collected was $17,335 for February.

The Town of Pomfret Court under Town Justice David A. Prince saw 235 vehicle and traffic cases, seven penal law cases, one parks and recreation case, two environmental conservation cases, 22 suspension lifts, one ag and market case and seven arraignments for other courts. The total number of cases was 275 and the total amount collected was $23,654.80 for February.

Village of Fredonia Justice Report

The Village of Fredonia Court saw 151 vehicle and traffic cases, 60 criminal cases, 28 village ordinance cases, five civil cases and five ABC Law cases. The total number of cases was 249 cases and the total amount was $24,667.50 for February.

Barbecue chicken and ribs dinner Sunday afternoon in Brocton

The Brocton American Legion Auxiliary will host a Chicken & Ribs Dinner Sunday, from noon till sold out at the Brocton Legion, 110 W. Main St. in Brocton. The dinner includes chicken, ribs, red potatoes, baked beans, bread, cookie and beverage for $8. Tickets are currently available at the Legion and at the door the day of the event. Proceeds will go to the Brocton Arch Project and community projects.

The public is welcome.

MaryAnn Spanos

to appear on Senior Report Saturday

Senior Report with Reed Powers will have MaryAnn Spanos as the guest on the Saturday television program. Spanos is the director of the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging. The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out. The program is rebroadcast daily at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for some areas.

Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Forestville, Hanover, Irving and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Bridge closing today

Chautauqua county Bridge No. 937, located on County Road 325-Poland Center Road, between state routes 394 and 62 in the town of Poland will be closed to all traffic effective today. This closure is due to replacement of the structure. A detour will be posted and the closure shall remain in effect until said detour signs are removed.
