Pomfret detour

A detour due to a bridge closure in Pomfret has been announced beginning Tues-day. The county bridge on Webster Road between Laona Road and Fredonia-Stockton Road (County Route 73) will be replaced during this time and traffic will be restricted. A detour route will be posted.

Chadwick Bay RDC?special meeting set

Chairman Dan Schrantz of the Chadwick Bay Reg-ional Development Corpor-ation has called a special board of directors meeting Monday at 4 p.m. at the City of Dunkirk Mayor's office. The meeting agenda will include discussion/action on an addendum to the Request for Proposal for Lead Consultant for the Regional Water District Implementation Plan.

Easter Kid Fest Saturday morning

The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church on Main Street in Cherry Creek will have its annual Easter Kid Fest on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Crafts, egg hunt, J.J. Jingles the Clown with face painting and balloon art, refreshments.

Ask for ID

City of Dunkirk residents are being asked to inquire about identification when solicitors come to thier homes. Police Chief David Ortolano said the department is getting reports of people going door-to-door soliciting for energy and television services.

"They have to have identification from the City Clerk's office. They have to be approved by the city clerk - after a background check - which we do," Ortolano said. "If they don't have ID please call the department so we can check on that."

Easter Cantana

performance Saturday

The Pine Valley Community Choir will present its Easter Cantata, "A Walk to Remember" on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Forestville Baptist Church and 7:30 p.m. at the Gowanda Free Methodist Church. Come and join us as we celebrate 25 years of music ministry.

Church to sponsor 1,000 Easter egg hunt Saturday

Christ Community Church at 219 Berry St., Fredonia will hold a 1,000 Easter egg hunt Saturday. Children throughout the community in fifth grade and under are welcome to come.

Before the Easter egg hunt, children will color bags to be used for the hunt, so bringing bags or baskets is not necessary. Children will be divided up by ages. A snack will also be provided.

The event begins at 10 a.m. rain or shine. There is no cost and all children are welcome. For more information call 673-1661.

Seabees to meet in city

With rotating state meetings of the U.S. Navy Seabee Veterans of Amer-ica, Island X-11 Chautau-qua Region, will host the 1 p.m. Saturday meeting at Dunkirk's VFW Post 1017 located at 11 Deer St.
