City woman faces charges
after rollover
accident
A Dunkirk woman was charged after a rollover accident that took place near 949 Central Ave in Dunkirk on Saturday evening.
Josie M. Adams, 64, of 610 Washington Ave. was charged with failure to stay in lane, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and a violation of Leandra's law (an automatic felony on the first offense to drive drunk with a person age 15 or younger inside the vehicle.)
Adams reportedly told police she was driving south on Central Avenue and struck a parked vehicle. The owner of the parked vehicle, Patricia Seibert of 949 Central Ave. said she was parked legally in front of her residence.
The parked vehicle sustained damage to the driver side rear quarter panel. Adams vehicle overturned in the middle of Central Ave.
Westfield Police Department
Joshua K. Smith, 25, of East Lake Road was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana on March 21. At 2:11 a.m. Westfield Police stopped a vehicle for allegedly failing to keep right on North Portage Street. During the traffic stop, it is alleged Smith was intoxicated. He refused to take a chemical test and was arraigned in Westfield Village Court. Smith was unable to post bail and was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
James A. Ruch, 17 of Pearl Street was charged with trespassing on March 30. Westfield Police were called to 69 Washington St. for an ongoing dispute. According to the complainant who resides there, Ruch had allegedly trespassed onto his property on the morning of March 30 after being advised to stay off of the property multiple times in the past. Ruch was released an appearance ticket for Village of Westfield Court.
On Thursday, Westfield Police received a phone call from Westfield School that Michelle L. McGee, 44, of Jackson Street drove to pick her child up from school. School staff reported that they could allegedly smell intoxicants on McGee's person.
The police located McGee outside the school and attempted to speak to her. She reportedly ran on foot from the Westfield Police
McGee was charged with obstructing governmental administration and issued an appearance.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
SINCLAIRVILLE - Shannon M. Burkiett, 18, of Sinclairville was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief Friday. At 10 p.m. sheriff deputies were called to a residence on East Avenue for an alleged incident. After an investigation, it is alleged Burkiett intentionally damaged property that did not belong to her. She was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Charlotte Court.
