Twenty years ago - 1992

The Cassadaga Job Corps Center held an awards ceremony at the White Inn in Fredonia honoring members of its Community Relations Council. The Center recently received the distinction as having the Best Community Relations Program in Job Corps Region II. Center Director Carlos Grace accepted the plaque. Also honored was Dr. Tat-Sum Lee for his significant contributions over the years as the center's physician.

Thirty years ago - 1982

American Musicians Local 108 will sponsor its first annual Musicians Ball this month at Philip Murray Union Hall in Dunkirk. General chairman Chet Kozlowski of The Cavaliers polka band noted this is the first event of its type for the community. Participating bands are Tubby Wallace, Kickbush Hollow, Norm Borowczyk, Driftwood, Easy Listening 13-piece Big Band, Joe Strada, Vince Costello and The Cavaliers.

Forty years ago - 1972

Ground was broken today for the reconstruction of the Dunkirk city sewage treatment plant in Wright Park.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Michael Sam and Malcolm C. Reed have been appointed to the Brooks Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.
