Names released
in Route 20 crash
According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff's Department, Hobart Damico of Brocton had pulled off Route 20 on the North side of the road to check his mailbox. He then turned across Route 20 into the path of the vehicle driven by Alice Waters of Ripley. Damico and his passenger, Fae Damico, were transported to Erie County Medical Center by Starflight while Waters was transported by ambulance to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
The Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Brocton, Stockton and Portland fire departments on the scene. Route 20 was closed for about an hour in both directions while the accident was investigated and the road cleared of debris.
Damico was ticketed for an improper and unsafe turn. Photos of the accident appeared in Tuesday's OBSERVER.

The investigation showed that the tractor trailer driven by Raymond Hickey, 41, of Erie Pa., and the car driven by a Holly Sharma, 28, of St. Louis, Mo., were both traveling west on I-86. As the car passed the tractor trailer, the operator of the truck merged into the car forcing it off the highway into an earth embankment. The operator and all three of her passengers were transported by Ashville and Bemus Point Rescue to WCA Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and the operator of the truck was not injured. Hickey was charged with unsafe lane change and will appear in the Town of North Harmony Court.
On Monday, Pelham was located at his residence and taken into custody. He was arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on bail.
Westfield Police
Jonathan A. Turk, 21, of Erie, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, driving across hazard markings and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle on March 31. Westfield Police observed Turk driving erratically at 2:17 a.m. Through investigation and standardized field sobriety testing, it was determined Turk was drunk. The passenger and registered owner of the vehicle, Christine J. Buckel, 20, of Erie was found to be in possession of marijuana and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Turk was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital where he did consent to a blood test to determine the alcohol content of his blood. Both subjects were released on appearance tickets to a third party.
Kelie A. Glennon, 27, of Brockton, Mass., was charged with speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on April 1. At 8:27 p.m. Westfield Police stopped Glennon for speeding on West Main Street. A check of Glennon's driving record showed her license had been suspended. She was released on an appearance ticket.
