The OBSERVER

SOUTH DAYTON - K. Louise Stearns, age 77, died Monday April 02, 2012 in her home following a brief illness surrounded by her family. She goes on to join her husband Robert "Lefty" Stearns Jr. after 59 years of marriage who passed away October 10, 2011.

She was born July 20, 1934 in Gowanda, New York the daughter of the late W. Arthur and Katherine (Barkley) Wolfe. Louise was a retired health aid for JN Adams Develop-mental Center, where she worked for 20 years. Her grandchildren remember her at every sports game (or as many games as the rotation of 16 grandchildren would allow.) At family picnics and parties at the pond, her family never lacked for a thing as she packed "everything but the kitchen sink". "Mama" and Bobby were always the last to arrive at the gatherings unless Bobby beat her to the pond on his four-wheeler. Family was forever important to Louise. Louise was an active member of the Hillside Club, Country Chicks Red Hatters, and Hamlet United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her 5 children Stephanie (William) Eaton of Cattaraugus, Christopher (Melissa) Stearns of South Dayton, Timothy (Angela) Stearns of Batavia, Jennifer (Kenneth) Hettenbaugh of Ran-dolph, and Alicia (Jeffrey) Feinen of Fredonia. Louise was the proud grandmother of sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
