A news item on Tuesday noted that Silver Creek's attorney has resigned. Village Mayor Kurt Lindstrom noted Andrew Kehrer had stepped down during the Monday meeting while introducing the new board members.
That's funny. We did not realize the past attorney was even assisting the village, especially when you consider the illegal meetings that were held or even the questionable property deal for the current Department of Public Works building. That purchase, for double the property's value, received scathing reviews from the state comptroller's office.
So whoever takes over the village attorney job in the future, we wish them the best. This group, led by a overambitious, don't-worry-about-the-consequences mayor, definitely needs to be watched - and kept out of further trouble.
