Editor, OBSERVER:
Does anybody know what the word "fog" means? I am asking all drivers to reconsider the proper use of "fog" lights on their vehicles to using them when there is "fog" or no other vehicles around you.
It seems that "fog" lights are widely used as an addition to low beams while driving, but in respect to oncoming traffic and the driver in front of you "fog" light users, it still is much brighter and blinding to us around you.
Yes, I drive a 4-wheel drive, high-setting truck with "fog" lights, but I really do keep them turned off unless I really need them! (Does this sound like a "pet peeve" to you? Well, please understand it is actually a "safe" suggestion of awareness).
Even in my high-sitting truck the extra light is annoying as these "fog" lights reflect off my mirrors! Think of the people who drive low-sitting vehicles and what they are seeing!
If you have to have your "fog" lights on, please be considerate to every other vehicle, coming and going, and turn them off! Let's try and keep safety first and "fog" lights second! (Before they pass another law and ticket people for inappropriate use of "FOG" lights!)
