ARKWRIGHT - On Sunday, troopers charged John M. Goldberg, 50, of Fredonia-Stockton Road, Fredonia for driving while intoxicated.

Goldberg was pulled over on Miller Road for driving onto the shoulder. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests. He provided a breath sample that was reported to be .17 percent.

Goldberg was issued tickets for the Town of Arkwright Court, and is due to appear on April 12.

On Sunday, troopers charged Nicholas T. Bailey, 21, of Swan Street in Dunkirk with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Troopers stopped him on Franklin Avenue at Talcott Street after he reportedly failed to give a sufficient turn signal. Troopers reported he was in possession of about .7 grams of marijuana.

Bailey is scheduled to appear in the City of Dunkirk Court on April 9.

On Sunday, troopers charged Juan A. Ortiz, 28, of Dunkirk for driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Ortiz was pulled over on Route 60 in the Town of Dunkirk for reportedly having no plate lights. While being interviewed, troopers report that a plastic baggie with about .5 grams of crack cocaine was observed in plain view. Troopers report that Ortiz also failed field sobriety tests.

He provided a breath sample that was reported to be .10 percent. In addition, Officers report his license was suspended in New York state.

Ortiz was issued tickets for the Town of Dunkirk Court where he is to appear on April 7.

SHERIDAN - On Sunday, troopers charged Bethany L. Huff, 22, of Gowanda for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Huff was pulled over on King Road for reportedly crossing the center line. While interviewing Huff, officers reportedly saw a plastic baggie of marijuana in plain sight.

She was issued tickets for the Town of Sheridan Court, and is scheduled to appear there on April 12.

Chautauqua County Court

MAYVILLE - District Attorney David W. Foley announced the following pleas and sentences before the Honorable John T. Ward in Chautauqua County Court:

Melissa P. McLean, 28, of Bridge Hampton, was sentenced to 1 1/2 to 3 years in state prison for second-degree attempted assault.

Stephen L. Tyler, 20, of Jamestown, was sentenced to 1 year determinate in prison with one year post release supervision for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance .

Jeremiah D. Tolliver, 32, of East Sixth Street, Dunkirk, was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 5 years probation for first-degree criminal contempt.

Jesse R. Rivera, 23, of Cassadaga, was sentenced to 5 years probation for third-degree robbery and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
