SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Sunset Bay Fire Department responded to a house fire Monday at 6 a.m. at 3 Jackson St., Silver Creek.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials were able to contain the blaze to one room. Two adults and two dogs escaped the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation by the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team.
Silver Creek Police responded to rumors of the fire being suspicious in origin Monday evening.
"They are just rumors," Silver Creek policeman Stephen Romanik said. "We will not know the cause of the fire until the Fire Investigation Team releases the results in the next few days."
