Blessed Mary Angela Parish Ladies Society
The Ladies Society of Blessed Mary Angela Parish convened Tuesday at the Social Center following the Divine Mercy Novena and Benediction at the St. Hedwig site.
President Carole Schiller welcomed the members and special guests Pastor Rev. Matt Nycz and Parochial Vicar Rev. John Trela.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Jenny Naruszewicz. Treasurer Joan Zielinski gave her report and Dorothy Sarzyniak collected the annual dues.
Nycz spoke about the upcoming events at Blessed Mary Angela Parish:
Sunday - 2 p.m., Divine Mercy Mass at St. Hedwig's; 3 p.m., Divine Mercy Chaplet; 3:30 p.m., Light Reception, Social Center.
Tuesday, April 17 - Little Rock Scripture Study on the "Book of the 'Prophet Isaiah," St. Hyacinth School.
Monday, April 23 - 7 p.m., Healing Mass St. Hyacinth Site
Saturday, April 28 - Pot-luck dinner following the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Hyacinth's site.
Nycz stated that the members of the society should attend these important events.
Lemon pie and salad were served from a table covered with fuschia-colored cloth, edged with a bunny design. A colorful egg tree centered the table. Serving on the refreshment committee were Teresa Telly and Melanie Pryll.
A raffle was held and many prizes were awarded.
Fellowship Church
BROCTON - At a recent board meeting, it was decided to have movie nights on the first and third Wednesday evenings of each month at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The directory will be printed and distributed this month. Because the church member numbers are increasing, an update page will be added every three months rather than postponing the directory any longer. Last call for pictures and phone numbers will be this Sunday. Dinner will follow the worship service. Bring a dish to pass. All table service will be provided.
On April 22 at the morning service, a dedication will be held for the 50 mosquito nets which are being sent to Africa to protect children there from malaria.
On April 22 at the evening service beginning at 6 p.m., dessert will be served. Former Fredonia professor Terry Weaver and his wife, the Rev. Marilyn Weaver, will share their plan to return to the mission field following a much-needed sabbatical.
They will be training missionaries in Germany with their son Brian Weaver and family and then return to Nairobi, Africa. The public is welcome to attend and renew fellowship with this couple who formerly resided in Fredonia.
