State Police at Fredonia
On Thursday, Karl H. Lawson, 66, of Cassadaga was charged with driving while intoxicated. Troopers reported that Lawson was stopped on Route 60 in Pomfret for no tail lights. His blood alcohol content was reported to be .12 percent. He is due to appear in Pomfret Court on May 1.
Early Saturday morning, Fredonia troopers charged Robert Johnston, 20, of Kennedy and Brittany Covert, 17, of Forestville for unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 60 in Pomfret.
Troopers said Johnston failed to signal a right turn. When interviewing the subjects, troopers observed a plastic baggie of marijuana in Covert's front pocket. Two smoking pipes with marijuana belonging to Johnston were found after a search. Johnston was also charged with third-degree unlicensed operation after his license was found to be suspended.
Charges are to be answered in Pomfret Court Tuesday.
On Saturday evening, Jeffrey Thompson, 31, of Maple Avenue, Fredonia was charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, following a traffic stop on South Roberts Road in the town of Dunkirk.
Troopers said Thompson was stopped for driving over the white fog line and having an inadequate exhaust. He was unlicensed, had an open can of beer in the car, and had a crack pipe filter containing crack cocaine residue. His blood alcohol level was reported to be .14 percent.
He is to answer the charges in Town of Dunkirk Court.
State Police at Jamestown
FREWSBURG - On Tuesday, Zachary Johnson, 26, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Johnson was pulled over on Center Street for reported multiple traffic violations. He reportedly failed several field sobriety tests. Johnson was transported to state police barracks in Jamestown where his breath sample was reported as .10 percent. He was processed, issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Carroll Court, and turned over to a sober individual.
On Tuesday, Nicholas Buziak, 20, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Buziak was stopped for a reported traffic violation. A trooper reported observing marijuana residue on the center console. He further reported that when he searched the vehicle, he located a bag containing three grams of marijuana and a plastic container with two grams of marijuana.
Buziak was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the City of Jamestown Court.
ELLICOTT - On Friday, Antionleeka Stephens, 19, of Buffalo was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
A trooper pulled over a vehicle on Route 60. While speaking to Stephens, the driver, the officer reported smelling marijuana. The officer searched the vehicle and reportedly found a bag containing two grams of marijuana. Stephens was issued an appearance ticket.
