Northern Chautauqua County Club Association
The regular monthly meeting of the Northern Chautauqua County Club Association was recently held at the Frank Acquavia Memorial Post 1344, Lake Shore Drive West, in Dunkirk. Club Officer Ed Gould welcomed the group.
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for deceased club members. All officers were present, one club was not represented.
Secretary Janet Rozen read the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by a financial report by treasurer Janis Dibb.
Guests included former Mayors Richard Frey and Charles St. George. Dunkirk Mayor A.J. Dolce addressed the group, encouraging the clubs and their members to contact state officials asking them to support legislation which would help keep the NRG plant in operation.
Regular order of business was then conducted.
The next meeting will be held Sunday, April 22, 10:30 a.m., at the Silver Creek Overseas Veterans, 13 N. Main St. in Silver Creek.
Members of all clubs are invited to attend.
Cassadaga Branch Library Association
CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Branch Library Association met recently at the Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, with refreshments being provided by Vice Chairman Kathy George and Regina Burlingame. George presided at the business meeting, as the minutes and financial reports were read and approved.
Members went over the list of prize donors for the "Walk-Around-the-Lake" which will be held May 26, starting at 10 a.m. at the Cassadaga Beach.
It was decided to put up posters urging community members to contact the Stockton Town Supervisor Dave Wilson and Stockton Town Board members Allen Chase, John Beichner, Bryan Meder and Stan Zembryski to let them know the community wants the library in Cassadaga reopened.
The next meeting will be Monday, April 23, at 3 p.m. at June Woollett's apartment complex meeting room, Concord Estates, 441 Temple St., Fredonia. (Note the time change). New members are always welcome.
Women's Club to hold board meeting
MAYVILLE - The Western New York Federation of Women's Clubs April board meeting will be held Saturday at Webb's Captain's Table Restaurant, 115 W. Lake Road, Mayville beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Lunch will be ordered from the menu.

WNYFWC, established in 1896, is made up of women's clubs from the eight far-western counties in New York State and is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs-New York State Federation of Women's Clubs. Bemus Point Study Club, Mayville Tuesday Club, Sherman's Minerva Club and the Women's Club of Lakewood are all members.
