U.S. prison system is too ‘liberal’

April 21, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

I have tolerated a Fredonia State University professor's comments far too long. His remarks in the OBSERVER are not only unpatriotic, but very misleading from legalizing drugs so we can have more pot heads behind the wheel of a car to criticizing those who protect us from those everyday criminals.

Now he is critical of our prison system. I don't know if this self-proclaimed expert ever went to another country to see how they live. If he did and still feels the way he does, then I would say this poor soul of a person is lost completely.

I can imagine what you are teaching our students in college. Is it the same propaganda that you print in the paper? It is no wonder our colleges are in turmoil. It is because of self-proclaimed experts such as yourself. You are poisoning the minds of our kids and our citizens.

Let's not forget one thing. We live in a very liberal country where criminals are treater better than the establishment. Our judicial system has fallen apart because of liberal judges; therefore, we are living in a very unsafe environment. Other countries don't have prisons with televisions, gyms, three square meals a day and conjugal visits. Our prison systems are the most liberal of all the countries. Just too easy.

I think it's time for people like you to start being concerned for the people who are trying to stay out of trouble, work, pay taxes, bring up a family for a change. Get your head out of the sand and learn what patriotism really means. What have you accomplished besides complaining?
