Pomfret dog census and free rabies clinic to be held

The Town of Pomfret will be conducting a dog census within the town and the Village of Fredonia.

Dogs which are spayed or neutered will incur a license fee of $8.00, while unspayed or unneutered dogs will cost $18.00 per dog. An additional fee of $10 will be added as an enumeration fee for each unlicensed dog.

To avoid the enumeration fee, owners may register unlicensed dogs before being visited by the enumerators at the Town of Pomfret Clerk's Office, 9 Day Street, Fredonia, from 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. Owners will need to show proof of current rabies vaccination and proof of spaying or neutering.

A free rabies clinic will be held Saturday, May 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Town Barns.
