Cherry Creek man killed in head-on crash
CHERRY CREEK - A Cherry Creek man was killed and another one was injured in a head-on motor vehicle accident early Monday morning.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, George A. Bowser, 71, of Hunt Road, Cherry Creek was traveling south on Farrington Hollow Road and Timothy M. Dolling, 23, of Main Street, Cherry Creek was traveling north on the same road around 7 a.m.
Deputies say Dolling's vehicle apparently crossed into the southbound lane and Bowser's vehicle struck the driver's side of Dolling's vehicle. Dolling's vehicle then flipped over and landed on top of Bowser's vehicle.
Bowser was pronounced dead at the scene. Dolling was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital.
Along with the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, the fire departments of Cherry Creek, Ellington, South Dayton and Randolph as well as ALSTAR, responded to the accident.
The investigation is continuing.
