Calabro silences Fredonia’s bats, 13-5

Chelsea Calabro picked up the win for Olean Wednesday, as the Lady Huskies dropped the Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (4-3, 1-3), 13-5, in CCAA Division 1 softball action.

Calabro allowed a hit over three innings of work while striking out five and walking one before giving way to Olivia Anzivine, who worked the final four innings. Anzivine allowed five runs on nine hits while striking out four and walking two.

The Lady Huskies scored five runs in both the first and second innings, two in the third and one in the sixth, behind three hits and four RBIs by Rachel Painter. Calabro added three hits, including a double and an RBI while Maddie Stavish chipped in a pair of hits.

For the Lady Hillbillies, Michelle Napierala had two hits, including a two-run home run in the seventh while Arrica Lis collected three hits, including a double and an RBI. Maddie Crandall added a pair of hits in the loss.

Bre Dahn suffered the loss in the circle, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on seven hits while striking out two and walking three. Baylee Tarnowski tossed the final five innings in relief, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out eight and walking one.
