Compeer Chautauqua will hold its 14th annual Compeer Fore Golf Tournament on Friday, June 29, at the Chautauqua Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Compeer for Youth Program, which offers trained, compassionate mentors to youth ages 5 to 17 who have been referred by mental health and school professionals. Men's Slo Pitch

softball meeting

An organizational meeting for all teams interested in participating in the Dunkirk Recreation Men's Slo Pitch Softball League is scheduled for Thursday, May 3 at 6 p.m., in the Mayor's Second Floor Conference Room at City Hall.

Discussed will be league formats, fees, rules and rosters. All teams should be represented at this meeting.

Dunkirk Little League Spring cleanup

There will a work party Sunday, April 29, starting at 9 a.m., at the Little League Complex.

All managers, coaches and parents are asked to attend to help get the fields and surrounding area ready for the upcoming 2012 Season.

Rakes and weed trimmers are needed.

Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association

The Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association's 83rd annual championship tournament will begin Monday, April 30 at Lucky Lanes. The tournament will run everyday through Saturday, May 12 with the team event begining at 7 p.m. and doubles and singles events begining at 7:15 p.m. The squad times for May 12 will be 1 p.m. for team event and 1:15 p.m. for doubles and singles. Walk-in space is available for every squad, however, at least 24 hours notice is greatly appreciated.

League secretaries are reminded to turn in their league's final average sheets as soon as possible to assist with average verification.

Compeer Fore Golf Tournament

Compeer Chautauqua will hold its 14th annual Compeer Fore Golf Tournament on Friday, June 29, at the Chautauqua Golf Club.

The four-person scramble event will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Compeer for Youth Program, which offers trained, compassionate mentors to youth ages 5 to 17 who have been referred by mental health and school professionals.

Lunch and dinner are provided at the tournament with beverages and snacks at registration and on the course. There will be prizes for winners. Also included are men's and women's prizes for longest drive and closest to the hole.

Costs for the tournament are $80 per person and $65 for members of the Chautauqua Golf Club.

The tournament committee is offering hole sponsorships at $100 per hole to help support the tournament. Other sponsorships are available, including roaming beverage carts with sponsor identification at $350. Sponsorships feature appropriate signage and program recognition.

Compeer Chautauqua is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living, a residential and rehabilitation organization serving individuals with psychiatric disabilities in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and southern Erie counties.

Valley T-ball signups

Signups will be held at the Sinclairville Elementary School today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Signups can also be done by e-mailing Bob Reuther at conrad@netsync.net. Reuther requests that parents type the word "TBALL" in the subject. In the body of the e-mail should have the child's name, age, a contact name and number and what team is desired.

Children should be no younger than 5 and no older than 7 as of Dec. 31, 2011.

All games are on Friday night and the entry fee is $5 per child.

Entry fees must be paid by the first game.
