Longtime local residents return for visit

April 28, 2012
The OBSERVER

Dr. Terry Weaver and Rev. Marilyn Weaver visited Fellowship Church in Brocton and other area churches sharing their mission for ministry.

During their residency in Fredonia, Terry was chairman of the SUNY Fredonia Biology Department as well as a biology professor, and Marilyn pioneered and led many women's ministries.

Following their sons' graduations from Fredonia Central School, Terry and Marilyn began mission work through Elim Fellowship.

They served in Tanzania for 10 years and then spent 10 years in Kenya. During this time they founded bible colleges and churches, teaching and ministering to Africans. They opened the door for Christian education for women - a revolutionary concept.

Marilyn has authored a book chronicling their 10 years in east Africa called "Jambo, Kilimanjaro." It is available at amazon.com.

After five years of ministering stateside, they are returning overseas. They will be training missionaries in Germany with their son Brian and his family. They will then return to Africa.

For those who would like to contribute to this God-ordained calling, send contributions to Elim Fellowship for Weaver's Mission Project, 1703 Dalton Road, Lima, NY 14485 or www.elimfellowship.org.
