Schimel's new book is filled with entertainment appeal, but the lessons it contains are life-altering.
Schimel was born and raised in Westfield, spent several years pastoring churches in other parts of the United States, but returned to Chautauqua County in 2006. Since returning, he and his wife Shirley (LaPorte) Schimel operate a counseling ministry in Western New York called Touch One Counseling. Together, they pastor Harvest Chapel West at 9 Highland Ave. in Brocton.
