Healing Mass planned for Monday

A healing Mass in honor of St. Peregrine, the patron saint of cancer, will take place on Monday at 7 p.m. at Blessed Mary Angela Parish at the St. Hyacinth Worship Site, 295 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. The Rev. David A. Bellittiere and the Friends of St. Peregrine cordially invite those who are afflicted with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses, who wish to receive the Sacrament of the Sick to attend this special healing Mass. Spring rummage sale set

Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church will hold a spring rummage sale on Friday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday there will be a bake and bag sale. For donations of new or good used items or clothing, call 296-5213 or 296-8083.

Guest to speak at Lily Dale church

LILY DALE - Guest speaker Colleen Vanderzyden will be featured at the Church of the Living Spirit's Sunday service. Healing, meditation and messages are held at 10:30 a.m. in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue.

Lecturer to speak on compassion Sunday

CASSADAGA - Universal Unity of Spirit's guest speaker on Sunday is Teresa Schaeffer and the subject of her lesson/lecture is compassion.

Schaeffer is a workshop leader, lecturer and reiki master. She is also a certified fitness instructor who regularly teaches yoga and pilates classes.

The services are held at 89 N. Main St. (Route 60) Cassadaga and begin at 1 p.m. and include healing, meditation and the lecture followed by refreshments and fellowship. Universal Unity of Spirit offers weekly spiritual development classes. Workshops on a variety of subjects are scheduled to begin in June. Spaghetti dinner to be held Sunday

Spaghetti and meatballs will be the Italian entree at St. John the Baptist (Episcopal) Church on Sunday.

As well as spaghetti and meatballs, the menu will consist of salad, bread, beverage, and an assortment of homemade desserts from the hands of the St. John's dessert baking group.

A share of the proceeds will be designated to Episcopal Community Services. The outreach to ECS will be ultimately designated to Chautauqua County Rural Ministry.
