Daniel and Diane MacEwan of Spencerport, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Colleen MacEwan, to Stephen Thorndike, son of Evelyn Thorndike and the late Samuel Thorndike of Dewittville.
The bride-to-be graduated from Brockport High School in 2002 and SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education and a master's degree in reading and literacy education. She is currently teaching at St. Pius Tenth School in Chili, N.Y.
Her fiance graduated from Chautauqua Lake Central High School in 1999 and Alfred University with a bachelor's degree in physics and astronomy. He earned two master's degrees from the University of Rochester in physics and astronomy and in secondary science education. He is currently developing and teaching science curricula at BOCES 2 in Spencerport.
