Mayville - Chautauqua Business After Hours event
The Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business After Hours event on Wednesday, May 9 at the Athenaeum Hotel on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. This networking and learning event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with an hors d'oeuvres reception and soft drinks provided by the hotel. A full cash bar will be available.
This event is free to Chamber members who register in advance and bring a non-member guest. Non-member guests who register in advance may also attend for free. The cost for walk-ins and registered guests who are not bringing a non-member is $5. Registration is available through the Chautauqua County Chamber web site at www.chautauquachamber.org.
Leon Historical Society to meet Monday
The Leon Historical Society will meet Monday at the historical church on Route 62. A tureen dinner will be held at 6 p.m.; all attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. The meeting will follow at 6:45 p.m. The speaker will be Crystal Abers from Cattaraugus County Development, Planning and Tourism on the New York Amish Trail.
The museum opens Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be open every Saturday this year.
Chiavetta's Chicken Barbecue May 6
The Lutheran Zion Church, 11 Porter Ave., Silver Creek, will hold a Chiavetta's chicken barbecue Sunday, May 6 from noon to sold out. Presale tickets are $8 from any Zion member or $9 at the door. The meal includes Chiavetta's chicken, potato salad, tossed salad, a roll, dessert and a beverage (coffee or water). Some of the proceeds will go to help the Chautauqua County Lutheran Center.
