CVCS: Getting ready to mark 75 years

May 2, 2012
The OBSERVER

On Thursday, plans for marking a milestone will take an early step.

That milestone is the 75th anniversary of the Cassadaga Valley school district. Sally Lawson, who served on the committee for district's 50th milestone, will be heading up the first meeting that will take place at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the school's library.

The meeting will be open to anyone who wants to help or has some ideas.

"I just wanted to invite anyone who wanted to help," Lawson said at a recent school board meeting. "There are a multitude of things that could be done and different people have different interests. Some might be more interested in the athletics or another aspect."

Thirty-one school districts came together in 1938 to begin a district of one. This is definitely something worth celebrating.
