BROCTON - The Brocton Teachers' Association announces its selections for Student of the Month for March.
The middle school honoree is seventh-grader Thomas M. Johnston, son of Michael and Jody Johnston of Pomfret. Thomas has been in chorus for two years, consistently on the high honor roll, selected as a Bullpup leader every month this year and his favorite subjects are science and French. Outside of school, he enjoys soccer, having played since he was 4; enjoys drawing, writing stories, reading fiction and fantasy books, playing video games, hockey, skating and spending time with his family. He has three sisters, one in the Army who served a one-year tour in Iraq. His future plans involve a career in the medical field.
The high school honoree is senior Bradley Johnson, son of Brian and Darla Johnson of Brocton. He is very active in the sports program at Brocton, playing on football and baseball teams. He was chosen first team All-Star as a freshman for baseball as well as his sophomore year. During school, he has been on the honor roll throughout high school, he was selected Rotary student of the month and the Athlete of the Week for baseball in 2010 by the OBSERVER. His future plans include attending Jamestown Community College for two years and then transfer to a four-year college. He plans to be in law enforcement as a state trooper or sheriff. Outside of school, Brad enjoys working out, playing Frisbee, riding a four-wheeler, playing video games and watching movies.
