The 2012 New York State USBC Youth Association team championship took place in Syracuse on May 5 at AMF Strikes & Spares Lanes. Strike Force, won the Class A Handicap division. Pictured is the team, they are, from left, Shane Ryan, Lizzy Golubski, Tessa Gibbon, and John Nickerson, Jr. They rolled games of 761-809-790 for a scratch pin fall of 2,360. Their handicap score was 3,008. The team won a $1,000 team scholarship and gold medals for their victory. Strike Force bowls out of the Lucky Lanes Junior Bowlers program and are members of the Grape Belt USBC Youth Association. Tessa Gibbon earned high series handicap for girls ages 16-20 with a 765 (549 scratch), while Shane Ryan earned the high series handicap for boys ages 16-20 with an 824 (716 scratch). Both bowlers received a plaque for the outstanding scores. The Incredibowls, also from Lucky Lanes Junior Bowlers, competed for the Class A title as well. Members of the team are Michael Franklin, Emily Dillenburg, Corey Forbes and Dakota Griewisch. The Incredibowls finish in 11th place.

Gowanda Co-ed youth soccer begins May 23
The Gowanda Co-ed Youth Soccer program for children ages 6-12 will be held for six consecutive Wednesday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the George Dispenza Memorial Field on Broadway Road.
The first session is scheduled for May 23. Each session will consist of fundamentals, group drills and scrimmage games. Previous soccer experience is not mandatory.

Pucci's 6, Moose 5
Pucci's was led at the plate by Owen Nicosia with a double and a single while Derek Walters and Dawson Rafan each had two singles.
Pitching in victory was Nicosia with Nico Pucci coming in to relieve.
For The Moose, Jacob Tarnowski had two doubles and Kevin Siracuse had a double and a single.
On the mound, Siracuse pitched well in defeat.
Youth Council 7 American Legion 1
Trey Swartz pitched a complete-game, striking out 14 in the win for Youth Council. Noah Fleckenstein was 2 for 2 with a double, three stolen bases and three runs scored to lead The Council at the plate.
Cody Decker and Swartz had the other hits for Youth Council.
Anthony Gullo, Damian Skelly, Alex Schrader, Seth Schrader and Tyler Winchell each had a hit for American Legion.
Moose Club 10 DFT 2
Jake Tarnowski and AJ Schrantz combined to throw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Moose Club.
Kevin Siracuse blasted out a pair of triples to lead the offense. Will Schrantz, Nathan Shuart and Alex Patterson also added hits.
Reid Tarnowski (triple) and Eli McKelvey (double) had the DFT hits.
American Legion 11, Fireman 0
Tyler Winchell pitched a perfect game, striking out 10.
There were only four hits for the Legion. Reaching safely were Seth Schrader (single and double), Alec Schrader (triple) and Anthony Gullo(single.)
Pitching duties for Fireman were shared by Jacob Green, Lucas Green and Ben Kyte.
Youth Council 8,
Firemen 7
Nolan Mages and Jimmy Rush combined to strikeout 15 in the win over Firemen.
Trey Swartz was 3 for 3 with a triple and a double, and Dakota Erick and Noah Fleckenstein each banged out two hits for Youth Council. Dominic Gullo, Alex Rush, Mages and Jimmy Rush had the other hits for Youth Council.
Lucas Green, Ben Kyte, Keith Piper and Jacob Green had the hits for Firemen.
American Legion 8, Pucci's 3
Seth Schrader (11 strikeouts) and closer Jamison Horch (four strikeouts) shared pitching duties to carry Legion to victory.
Offensively, Schrader helped the cause with a(double and triple), Damian Skelly, Jacob Patterson, DJ Apthorp and Alec Schrader all had key hits in the win.
Derrick Walters (10 strikeouts) and Owen Nicosia pitched well for Pucci's. Leading Pucci's offensively was Tyler Cain with a triple while Nicco Pucci contributed with a double.

Mary's Deli vs. Tradition Agency
Mary's Defensive standouts were Cam Crowell and S.J. Brecht. Offensive stars were Derrick Clark and Brody Cave.
Tradition Agency had defensive gems turned in by Jacob Sullivan and Alex Paluch. Hitting displays were put on by Daisia Draggett and Xavier Case.
Cerrie League
Fredonia Medicor 15, Boswell Overcash 8
Medicor's three offensive stars were Micheal Berg, Owen Gilbert and Aiden Mohart. Medicor's two defensive stars were Nick Whitfield and Gabe.
Bodell Overcash's three offensive stars were Bryson Kolassa, Jack Carlson and Brenden Blue and their defensive star was Nicholas Shurniolo.
Davis Construction vs Bodell Overcash
Offensive stars for Bodell were Nicholas Frazier, Evan Frontuto and Salvatore Tabone. The team's defensive stars were Dawson Bird, Joseph Cerrie and Adam Sellari.
Offensive stars for Davis Construction were Ben Easton, Gabe Johnson and Micah Davis. Joey Vandette, Tim Davis and Simon Davis were the defensive standouts.
Adult Golf
Hillview
The Women Who Golf For Fun had their opening date Wednesday at Hillview.
However play was cancelled due to course conditions. They will try again next week, gathering at 9:30 a.m., teeing off at 10 a.m. A Dutch Treat pizza luncheon and meeting will follow golf. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will still be held at the club house at 10 a.m. All members new and old, are requested to be there.

Southern Tier Travel Soccer League
NCSA U-12 Concord 10, Eden Soccer Club 2
Josue Alfaro, Jack Gaken, Grant Thompson and Carter D'Agostino each had two goals for NCSA Concord, which picked up its first victory of the season.
Patrick Yunghans and Korey Gee also scored for NCSA Concord. Mike Sturnilio, Jimmy Rush and D'Agostino each had assists. Gee and Brendan Plaister were in goal. NCSA Concord plays host to the Bemus Area Youth Soccer Club on May 13 at Dunkirk High School.
NCSA U-17 4,
BAYSO 4
Ali Muniz led NCSA with three goals while Matgarito Rojas also put in a penalty kick for the home team.
Kevin Rogers, Wendell Maggitti and Morghon Thompson had strong games.
Maggitti received the STAR patch for sportsmanship.
NCSA's next game is Sunday, May 13 at 4:30 p.m. at Dunkirk High School.
