Thanks given for shoe drive success

May 14, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

The recent shoe drive for soles4souls has been a tremendous success.

Thank you to the Cutting Crew in Fredonia, the Sheridan United Methodist Church, the Forestville Food Pantry and A Cut Above in Silver Creek for housing the collection bins. Thanks to Denise Schwab who helped tie, rubberband all the pairs of sneakers, shoes and recounted the 475 pairs of shoes and sneakers.

A special shout out to Roger Britz of the Box Monkey at the D & F Plaza who arranged the most efficient and economical way to ship these items to soles4souls. And lastly, thank you to all who generously contributed.

Soles4souls provides one pair of shoes to a person in need every 7 seconds. Because of the generosity of our community, many people will be wearing shoes for the first time!

LINDA AURES,

Forestville
