Mabel R. Scholton

Mabel R. Scholton, 91, of 14 Wesleyan St. Panama, NY died May 12, 2012, at Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA.

She was born July 12, 1920 in Panama, NY the daughter of the late William and Cleo Fields Hosier. Mabel had worked at Panama Rocks as a waitress, and she also worked at Panama Central School Cafeteria. She enjoyed her flower gardens, watching birds, embroidery. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived her children: Janette Weaver, Douglas Scholton, Jerry (Gloria) Scholton all of Panama, NY.; Grandchildren: Karen (Dennis) Westerburg, Robert (Abby) Weaver, of Georgia, Kevin (Ginger) Weaver of Brocton, NY, Sherry Weaver Lauer of Lubi, California, Dawn (Chris) Comstock, Panama, NY.; Great Grandchildren: Aaron Lauer, Josh Weaver, Amy (Ricardo) Lopez, MaKayla, Isaac Weaver, Elizabeth Comstock, Ryan (Samantha) Bensink, Travis (Tawn) Bensink, Nathan Bensink, Lara (Willard) Bensink; five Great Great Grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Irene Ellis, Altoona, Florida.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Scholton, May 2, 1987, whom she married July 15, 1939.; her son-in-law, Harry Weaver on January 1, 1999 and one brother Elwood Hosier.

Friends will be received at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Monday May 14th, 2012 and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday May 15, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Panama Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Panama Volunteer Fire Department Main St. Panama, NY 14767.
