Shortly after 10 p.m., a semi-tractor trailor driver traveling east on Route 5 in the town of Sheridan reported a possible personal-injury accident involving a motorcycle. The accident occurred between Harrington and Newell roads.
The Dunkirk Police Department, along with members of the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department, were first on the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was later located down the side of an embankment on the south side of Route 5. It was unknown however, to what extent the driver of the newer-model, blue Suzuki was injured, as police, fire and rescue personnel were still on the scene at press time.
Besides the Dunkirk Police Department and Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department, the New York State Troopers, Dunkirk East Town Fire Department, Alstar Ambulance Service, Dunkirk Fire and Rescue and the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Department were all on the scene.
