Fredonia male accused of armed robbery

A Fredonia male is being held following an armed robbery early this morning.

Dunkirk Police have charged an 18-year-old male in connection with a robbery on Lake Shore Drive East. At 12:41 a.m. police were called to a possible robbery in progress. Investigation led officers to arrest the male on charges of second-degree attempted robbery, a class D felony and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. A 9 mm firearm which was used during the incident was recovered.

The male, whose name was not released, is being held at the city holding center awaiting arraignment. The investigation is continuing.
