FORESTVILLE - Ryanne Dugan looked ready for the playoffs Tuesday, as she tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Frewsburg, helping Forestville to a 2-0 non-league win over the Bears.
"The girls played outstanding defense and Ryanne pitched a great game," Forestville head coach Bryanne Hazelton said. "I think they're read for the playoffs and hopefully this win will get them ready to go on Thursday."
For Dugan, it was her fourth shutout of the season. The sophomore struck out 11 in the win while adding a triple at the plate.
The Lady Hornets scored both of their runs in the bottom of the second on an RBI triple off the bat of Emily Dillenburg and an RBI single off the bat of Emily Gilman.
Samantha Mott took the loss in the circle for Frewsburg, tossing a complete game, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out for and walking as many.
Forestville, the top seed in the Section 6 Class D softball playoffs, will host No. 8 Ellicottville, on Thursday, at 4:45 p.m.
