Justina M. Barone and Christopher J. Lambert of Austin, Texas, announce their engagement. Barone is the daughter of Mary Barone and granddaughter of Florence Barone, both of Dunkirk; and niece of Phyllis Barone of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Michael and Denise Barone of Cleveland, Ohio. Lambert is the son of Clare Braun of Indianapolis, Ind., and Daniel and Deborah Lambert of Netcong, N.J.
The bride-to-be is a Dunkirk Senior High School graduate, Class of 1999. Her fiance graduated from Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey. The couple met at Lehigh University where both were athletes and members of the track team. Lambert proposed at a surprise engagement party in Virginia Beach, Va., to celebrate Barone's recovery from breast cancer.
An Aug. 3, 2012 destination wedding is planned in Cancun, Mexico.
