The Fredonia small business recently introduced its specialty product at the International Furniture Fair in Tokyo.
Thirty years ago - 1982
Twenty-one daily newspapers in the U.S. and Canada, including the OBSERVER, were named award winners for the best 1981 safety records of their newspaper delivery vehicles in the Annual Safe Driving Campaign sponsored by the American Newspaper Publishers Association and the International Circulation Managers Association. A Certificate of Merit was awarded to the OBSERVER for completing the year without a vehicle accident.
Forty years ago - 1972
"All in the Family" won six Emmy Awards, including best actor (Carroll O'Connor); best actress (Jean Stapleton) and best supporting actress (Sally Struthers).
Fifty years ago - 1962
The partnership of R.O. Proper and Son purchased the Kendall bulk plant at 32 E. Second St., Dunkirk from the Kendall Refining Co. and has become the main distributor for Texaco gasoline stations in the northern Chautauqua County area.
