Forestville Elementary School recently received a plaque for their Bald for Bucks efforts last October as part of the 2011 Make a Difference Day project. Forty-one students in grades K-6, one parent, two elementary teachers and a school psychologist bravely had their heads shaved or cut to help find cures and save lives. It was a "hair shaving" success raising $5,066.35. This is the second plaque the school has received and both are displayed with pride in a showcase in the front lobby of the school. Pictured are the students who raised $100 and more. Over the past 10 years, Goin' Bald for Bucks has successfully raised $1 million to support critically needed research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The project was coordinated by Mrs. Jennifer Dunn, Mrs. Carol McPeak-McDonald and Miss Katherine Wyrobek.
